Microsoft Home Tour

The Microsoft Home, located in the Redmond Executive Briefing Center, highlights Microsoft's commitment to consumers and innovative technology. An immersive environment, it illustrates and explores ways that technology could make our daily lives better over the next 5-10 years.

This unique facility allows visitors to experience scenario prototypes based on how emerging technologies might enhance the way we live five-to-ten years in the future. It is not a museum, visitor’s center, or slide presentation. It is a lab built as a full-scale model within Microsoft’s Executive Briefing Center designed to look and feel like a functioning American home with a range of demonstration scenarios placed in familiar settings. The Microsoft Home does not represent Microsoft product plans. Instead it illustrates general consumer technology trends and is a place to explore possibilities, stimulate discussion, and deepen understanding.

The experience is an hour-long visit led by a host, showing technology enhancements, solutions, and choices that relate to The Microsoft Home’s fictional occupants’ preferences, values, and desires.

Microsoft Envisioning Lab Tour

The Microsoft Envisioning Lab is a space designed to engage customers and partners in a conversation about our long-term vision for productivity. This interactive session explores the macro forces shaping our world, associated business challenges, and how Microsoft responds to these emerging needs.

Visitors experience prototypes and demos under development across Microsoft so we can gain a deeper understanding of customer’s unique business challenges and to get customer feedback on future productivity scenarios.

The experience is an hour-long session led by a facilitator and covers the following activities:
  • An overview and discussion of macro forces that will shape how we live and work in the next 5-10 years
  • A viewing of the Productivity Future Vision video
  • Hands-on exploration of prototypes
